I love Valentine’s Day! Every year my dad stops by my house and brings me the cutest card and a little gift. It’s not the present that counts in my book, it’s just that he took the time to stop by and tell me that he loves me. My dad is my hero and always will be.
I want YOU to have a special Valentine’s Day treat, too! With help from lorelei1141’s wonderful Etsy Shop, I want you to wear this adorable, vintage bracelet and know that you are loved!
I’m in love with the brass findings, and the charming typewriter letters. She uses big, chunky ceramic beads like the perfect amount of seasoning! I just love unique and vintage-looking jewelry!
2.) Leave as many comments on this post as you'd like. Don't be shy! Each comment is one entry. Random.org will choose the winner on Wednesday night, February 10, 2010.
You could be wearing this bracelet on Valentine’s Day!
Kelly, thank you so much for hosting your wonderful PlumDaisy giveaway. You are so talented. I love your creativity and the way you mix and match colors!
“Eight weeks ago I delivered 3 months early. Abby (my daughter) was 1 lb. and 13 oz. She has done amazing. Every day I praise the Lord for what He has given us. We hope to be home by the first of the year. Until now Abby hasn't been able to wear clothing and so I had to try and find hats/headbands to fit her, to give her some personality. I know it sounds small but a bow is a BIG deal when you’re used to seeing your baby with monitor leads and lots of tubes.”
If you have a second, check out her blog. Her tiny daughter is just the most precious thing. Please pray with me for baby Abby’s lungs to get nice and strong. I don’t know her whole story, but wouldn’t it be amazing if she could be home by Christmas!? That’s totally my prayer!
I want to introduce you to Kelly at PlumDaisy. Her clippies and hair blooms are what got me hooked! I plan to put a couple of her cute things in Beach Bunny’s stocking.
I want you to get to know Kelly a little bit. Here’s a quick little Q and A I had with her last night…
Q: How did you start your wonderful Etsy shop?
A: I am blessed with one beautiful little girl, Ava Marie {my model, below} now 3 1/2. {Where has the time gone?!} Plum Daisy was really inspired by her, her peach-fuzz head and her ever expanding wardrobe. Her prematurity at birth contributed to her lack of hair which didn't grow in until well after her first birthday. I had trouble finding headbands to dress up her head so I started making lace headbands accented with flowers for her. Lots of compliments later and a suggestion by my uncle to sell them is what drove me to open up shop on Etsy. A lot of my pieces are inspired by the boldly printed fabrics and vibrant color combinations found in Ava's wardrobe.
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: I have a thirst for any kind of creative outlet. When I manage to find time I love to dabble with photography, mostly landscapes and botanicals or historic architecture. I am also getting back into simple arts and crafts that I can create with my daughter reminiscent of my Girl Scout days.
Q: {This question was extra credit- wink, wink} If you had a million bucks, what would you do with it?
A: Oooh, this IS a fun one! If I had a million dollars I would buy a Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a nice lens kit and travel the world with my other half and my daughter and document it all through photographs and journals, starting with the fabulous U.S. of A.
A girl can dream, right?
Kelly would love to offer a $25 e-gift card to one lucky winner.
All you need to do is visit PlumDaisy and come back and leave a comment about what caught your eye. If you’d like a second entry, you can fan her on Facebook. Currently, she has 19 fans, and we need to change that for her. Her stuff is too cute!
Thank you, Veronica, for the fun BabyKDesigns giveaway!
Congrats, Camille! Your little girls are going to look so cute in their new hats!
I have one last giveaway coming up on Monday. They would make the cutest stocking stuffers. Kelly has a great mom-owned business. I can’t wait to introduce you to her.
How cute is this hat? I am convinced that crocheted beanies are taking over the world! I love the curly ostrich feathers! It’s so girlie and fun.
I was on the quest for the perfect hat for Beach Bunny to wear for Christmas pictures. I fell in love with this one. She doesn’t keep hats on for very long, but this hat stayed on her head for over an hour. We played with bubbles, swung on the swings, and took pictures… and she was happy as a clam with her hat on. That’s a first!
This adorable little crochet beanie is from the cool Etsy Shop, BabyKDesigns. Veronica, the owner, also has a great blog. She has the most beautiful selection; I plan to do some more Christmas shopping there for my daughter… and I know my mom has already purchased some of her hand-made designs, too.
Veronica is such a doll. She will give one lucky winner a $25 e-gift card for anything in her shop! Did you see she’s having the most amazing sale right now? Somebody hold me back.
I love to support mom-owned businesses. I can’t help myself.
How to enter?
Visit Veronica’s Etsy Shop and then come back and tell me in your comment what item you like best.
If you’d like a second entry, you can visit BabyKDesign’s blog and becoming a “Facebook Fan” of her cute stuff! (located in her left sidebar).
Contest runs through this Friday, December 4, 2009. The winner will be chosen by random draw.
We just walked in the door from a four hour road trip visiting with Kahuna’s side of the family. It was so nice to get out of town, but we could certainly do away with holiday traffic! Can I get an amen up in here?!
Before I unpack and start a mountain of laundry, I wanted to announce the CSN Store’s Le Creuset winner.
I used an online true random number generator, and the winner is….
Big Kahuna and I have known each other since we were kids and have been married for almost 15 years. We are passionate about our family, travel and serving God. We love helping people and bringing them hope. We laugh ourselves to tears watching classic episodes of Saturday Night Live and The Office. Summer is our favorite season, and we live for warm evenings playing with the kids on the beach.
Big Surf is 12 years old. He's a voracious reader, focused, and spends hours building things. He is our resident techie and is also learning to play the violin. He loves to spend his free time playing baseball, flag football, or out on the trails by the house building his clubhouse.
Goofy Foot is 8 years old. He devours his free reading books like there is no tomorrow. He is also the family comedian. If you see him, ask him to tell you a joke! He is tender-hearted, social and compliant. When he is not outside riding his bike, you'll find him drawing or writing a funny book.
Beach Bunny is two years old. She is our sunshine! She joined our family through the unbelievable gift of adoption. Beach Bunny loves to snuggle with us and carefully takes care of her baby dolls. She is super silly and must say hi to everyone! One word that describes her is "joy".
